Surface to Air Missiles to Protect Olympic Athletes

Do you remember back in 1996 at the Atlanta when some guy detonated a pipe bomb in Centineal Olympic Park? Well, Beijing is going to make sure nothing like this happens while they are on watch. In fact, they are going to make sure that nothing short of World War III breaks out. The Beijing government has gone to some impressive measure to keep their Olympics safe.

Surface to Air Missiles

One of the most dramatic precautions the Beijing government is taken is installing two separate surface to air missile systems. These high tech missile systems can be found in two camouflaged bases near the Olympic area. The missiles use an infer red technology that offers them an 80% to 90% accuracy. The missiles can hot targets up to eight miles away.

The surface to air missiles have been setup do to Beijings fear of being attacked by Tibetan separatist and the Xinjiang Muslims. Now, Im not doubting the danger of either of these groups. What I do doubt however, is that either one of them own a plane or are capable of hijacking one.

No Bald Cab Drivers

A while back, Beijings transportation department decided hairdos of taxi drivers went a long way in “giving a good impression.” As such, the Beijing government has banned female hairstyles that are too fancy, bald heads, shaved heads, and beards.

So, if you are heading to Beijing for the Olympics, you won’t have to worry about that bald cab driver you were stressing about having.

No Basements

As an added precaution, the Beijing government has forced anyone who lives in a basement or has a house with a basement to move out. All basements have been closed up and are patrolled regularly for criminal activity.

Spys in Hotels

According to CBS News, forgien hotels will face some big trouble if they don’t install secret software to monitor internet use of their guests.

“Foreign-owned hotels in China face the prospect of “severe retaliation” if they refuse to install government software that can spy on Internet use by hotel guests coming to watch the summer Olympic games, a U.S. lawmaker said Tuesday. ”
