Hello there - My name is Adam Reed and I am/will be living in China for the next year or so. I met Sean and Mika while in Germany this summer, where we were all taking in the excitement of World Cup. I am really big on “small world” stories and, while on a tour, Mika overheard me telling some people that I was from Portland, Oregon. He came up and introduced himself and Sean and we all became friends one fateful night in Berlin.
First, let me tell you how I arrived here in China. I had been on an ultimate back-packing adventure that started in Morocco, continued through Europe, Turkey, Russia, Mongolia and concluded in China last October (you can review my experiences on adogtravels.com.) My plan was to continue through the rest of Asia, Oceania, and S. America, but, as oftens happens in life, plans changed. China really grabbed a hold of me. I spent November and December here travelling and studying Mandarin and I really love this Country. I went home for the holidays and rested up for the last couple months, and now I am back. I am currently in Beijing and will head to a couple different places over the next few days. I plan on staying in Qingdao where I will continue my Mandarin studies.
My goal with this blog is to keep anyone who is interested updated on a fellow travellers experience starting from scratch in a new country, learning a new language, sharing my perceptions of this wonderful place - with her wonderful people, food, culture, and history.
I also hope that I can meet up with any of you that may be living here or just passing through.

Hey, Adam - Good to see the Logue finally come to life!
My mom will be in Beijing briefly in October, en route to Lhasa and then Nepal, and she’s been peppering me with questions… Maybe I’ll just direct her over here now…
