Accommodation

After your plane ticket to China, choosing your accommodation will evidently be the next step. Planning in advance can sure pay off: if you book a hotel room, the sooner you do it, the more chances to get a discounted offer. If you prefer to stay in a hostel, make sure to book in advance as the hostels book up very fast particularly during summer.

Sleeping in China can be very cheap, affordable or expensive, depending on the facilities you expect and the number of stars the hotel has. The cheapest places to sleep remain the hostels.

Here is a description of the types of accommodation you can expect in China.

Hotels

Hotels in China cater for any type of traveler in budget. There are plenty of luxury hotels, just perfect for the business travelers or those looking to spend a luxury vacation but there are also plenty of cheaper hotels for the travelers who like to save money on accommodation. Discounts offered pretty much year round can also help a lot.

Hostels

Just like pretty much all over Asia, hostels in China are incredibly cheap. Beds in dorms can cost as little as US$8/night while for a twin private room ensuite you’ll pay at most US$20/night/person. Add that most of the hostels are located really close to the city center and to the metro stations and you’ve got the best option to spend a vacation in China and you won’t even have to pay an arm and a leg for it!
